10:00pm EST - 11.4.10: Finally, I am in the city and trying to get settled in. The event was today in SoHo at the Oakley Store, it rained something horrible all day, but my close friends, family and locals stopped in to donate, learn about Lyme Disease and shop around. Overall it was really nice to see everyone and realize the race is just a few days away. To that point, I actually tested myself yesterday and ran from 1 West in Battery Park to 95th Street along the West Side Hwy and back, which was just over a half marathon. I know you are not supposed to do that long of a run right before, but I needed to for my own mental health! And I ran it pretty well, in 2 hours and 2 minutes exactly, not bad considering it my first real run in over three weeks with the foot injury. Hopefully that is a good sign of things for race day, surprisingly I am not in much pain today. A few photos from the event - can be viewed here - Matthew |
